Full bio

Hudson Williams is a Canadian actor whose breakout came as Shane Hollander, the closeted elite hockey captain at the centre of Heated Rivalry, the Crave and HBO Max drama adapted from Rachel Reid's novels (GQ; The Hollywood Reporter). The series follows Shane and his Russian rival Ilya Rozanov (Connor Storrie) through a long-running romance; critics have singled out the leads for the precision of their non-verbal work and the intensity of their shared scenes (RogerEbert.com; /Film). In interviews Williams has linked part of Shane's inner life to his close relationship with his father, who is on the autism spectrum, and has spoken about living with ADHD while navigating sudden fame (The Hollywood Reporter).

Hudson Williams was born in Kelowna, British Columbia, and raised in Kamloops in a multicultural household (Wikipedia, citing interviews and profiles). He studied at the Beattie School of the Arts and Sa-Hali Secondary School, then moved to Vancouver, where he completed Langara College's Film Arts certificate in 2020 and worked as a server while auditioning and making shorts (Wikipedia; The Hollywood Reporter).

Before Heated Rivalry reached screens, his on-camera work included guest roles on Canadian and U.S. television and supporting parts in made-for-television features (Wikipedia). Industry outlets later framed those credits as early steps toward the hockey drama that repositioned his career (The Hollywood Reporter).

The success of Heated Rivalry extended into fashion and music. He opened the Dsquared2 men's show in Milan in January 2026; Vogue described both the creative brief and the technical challenge of the runway moment. Balenciaga later named him a Friend of the House and featured him in Pierpaolo Piccioli's early campaign work for the label (GQ). On the 2026 Academy Awards red carpet, coverage noted Bulgari jewellery worn with his tailoring (Harper's Bazaar). In April 2026 he led Laufey's Madwoman music video and appeared in Peloton's Let Yourself Go brand spot alongside instructors; The Hollywood Reporter covered both releases in line with wider trade reporting on casting and marketing. In February 2026 he reunited on camera with co-star Connor Storrie for a Saturday Night Live episode Storrie hosted (Variety).

Upcoming work reported in major trades includes the Crave mystery series Yaga (Variety) and Sofia Banzhaf's feature Apparatus opposite Dylan O'Brien, summarized alongside other slated titles in a spring 2026 Deadline overview (Deadline). Heated Rivalry earned multiple Canadian Screen Award nominations for 2026; Williams was listed among the drama-series lead performer names when nominations were announced (The Hollywood Reporter).

Williams has described a physical, detail-heavy approach to performance and a sceptical view of judging a career chiefly through social metrics (The Hollywood Reporter). Recent profiles sketch a path from arts-focused schooling in British Columbia to a moment where streaming drama, fashion houses, and brand film overlap for a performer still early in his feature career (The Hollywood Reporter; Vogue; GQ).
